18's Head Coach

Rachel Kater

Rachel Kater grew up in Wichita Kansas, and moved to Arizona summer of 2018. She graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS in December of 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Coaching. While in Olathe, Rachel coached three years for Southwind Rising Volleyball Club ranging from 15's-17's, and one year for KC Challenge Volleyball Club 14s. After moving to Arizona, Rachel was an assistant coach for the Genesis 18s team this past season.

 

As a player, Rachel was a 1st Team NAIA All-American setter at MidAmerica Nazarene University. During her time there, the team also won three back to back conference titles. Finishing out her senior year at Ottawa University, she was a 2nd Team NCCAA All-American. Rachel is now the Graduate Assistant for both the Varsity and Varsity Reserve Women's Volleyball teams at OUAZ. She is currently working on a master of arts in Leadership degree and plans to complete it next fall.

Assistant 18's Coach

Schae - Anne

Coach Schae played four years of varsity level volleyball for Kamehameha High School, three years of libero/defensive training for the University of Hawaii and one year of college-level Beach volleyball. She started club volleyball at the age of eight and has loved the sport ever since. As a coach, she aspires to bring new positive coaching ethics to the court and to build a successful all-around team. Coach Schae stands by,

“The interesting thing about coaching is that you have to trouble the comfortable, and comfort the troubled.”

She wants to challenge the players to be all that they can be.
